Welcome to the FAQ page. Here you will find answers to the questions asked most often. If you have any questions you would like to submit, please use the Support page.

1. What do I do?
The object most of the time is to splat all the members of the opposing team (the red guys).

2. I shot this guy – why didn’t I get anything?
You only get a splat for shooting enemies while in a game. You most likely are firing at a teammate (the green guys), or at an enemy who is running through the holding area. Also, in certain games new players are given “newbie protection.” They will appear on your screen as a light blue character; this protection runs out a minute into the game, and a player no longer gets it after 25 games or 10 splats, whichever comes first.

3. I am trying to buy a piece of equipment. Why does it say I must remove my gun from my right hand?
This is because both of your hands are full. Type /stat to see your equipment and figure out the problem. You probably want to keep whatever is in your right hand so look at what is in your left hand, go into a store, and type /sell <name of equipment>. For instance, /sell jacket.

4. How do I reload my gun?
Reloading is very simple. The type of ammo you want to use depends on the gun that you are using. If you are using a beginner gun you will want to use bags of free paintballs; if you are using a paintball gun you will want to use tubes of paintballs. If you use the wrong ammo your gun will jam. To reload the beginner gun, go to the ammo store and type /relgun. To reload a paintball gun go to the ammo store and type /reload tube gun.

5. Why is it telling me my weapon is jammed?
It tells you this when you have the wrong ammo in your gun. To see the contents of your weapon type /look gun. To fix a jammed gun it is easiest to just sell it and buy another from the weapons store. For help on reloading your gun see the previous question.

6. Why am I being charged to play in games?
This is because you have run out of available games. Hit ctrl + w. Locate your name, then go to the games column. Every game you play lowers the number by one. When it reaches zero you are charged 10% of your on hand cash to play in games. You can always ask an administrator to reset your games to your maximum. You’ll recognize an admin by his or her blue, bright green, darker green, or red name. Remember: please and thank you is always appreciated.

7. I have two pieces of equipment with camo. Why can’t I wear them both?
HVPB only allows you to wear one piece of equipment per body part. Camo automatically wears on your body, so you are only allowed to wear one piece of equipment with camo at a time. Your best bet is to place the camo on a jacket.

8. How do I gain levels?
You gain levels by splatting players. It takes 125 splats to get form level 5 to level 6, 150 to get from 6 to 7, 175 from 7 to 8, etc. A non-paying player can only splat to level 9.

9. Why is some of the equipment in the stores red?
This equipment is unavailable at your rank. Each class has 5 ranks. Every time you gain a level your rank on that class increases by one. To see which rank the equipment is available at either visit the (equipment site) or go into a store and click the + sign next to the equipment, it will tell you what rank it is available.

10. What do the different colors of the names mean?
The color of a player’s name denotes his or her status. A black name is a non paying player. A pink name is a paying user. A gold name is a gold player. Blue is Newbie Helper (NH). Green is Tournament Master (TM). Teal is administrator (90). Red is the guy who keeps everything running.

11. What do you suggest for beginner equipment?
I would suggest this setup:
A helmet[scope]
A small backpack
A beginners jacket[plains]
A paintball gun
A pair of work boots

The backpack you should use to keep gems in. The default get gem button picks up the gem and puts it in your backpack. The beginners jacket is better than a normal jacket because it has forest and jungle camo built in, so adding plains camo allows you to have 3 camos.

12. How do I get money?
To earn money you either splat people or win games. You can also play tournaments to earn larger amounts of money. For more on tournaments see the next question.

13. What are tournaments? How do I play them?
Tournaments are a way for players to wager higher amounts of money. There are two different types, freeguns and regular. There are also many styles of each type, the two most common being 5vs5 and open.
Freegun tournaments remove all of the class advantages from the game. The gun modifies everyone’s stats so they move the same speed, shoot the same distance, fire the same ammo, etc. It is mostly based on skill. Freeguns are only allowed to be used in a tournament you cannot use them in regular games.
Regular tournaments are more based on teamwork. You are allowed to use all of the equipment that you want, except a freegun. You have to rely on your teammates to use their advantages to pick up where you fall short.
5vs5 h as an even number of people on each team, ranging from 3vs3 to 8vs8. For this tourn, two captains sign and then take turns picking people for their team. You have to be picked to play in this tournament.
Open means anyone can sign. Often there are 5 or more teams, with between 1 and 5 members per team.
